Abandoned Animal Rescue
No-kill animal shelter and low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Tomball. Volunteers are needed to perform tasks, such as dog walking, cat care, basic animal grooming, office work, creating fliers, raising funds and yard work as well as washing animal dishes and towels.

The Giving Gown Foundation
Collects new and like-new formal gowns and accessory donations and provides them FREE of charge to high school girls who would otherwise be unable to attend their formal events. They also collect less formal dresses that they can include in their annual dress sale held in the fall of each year. Funds raised help to purchase items needed for Boutique Day, when the girls select their dress, held each year. Donations and volunteers are needed for collecting, sorting, alterations, working with the girls as Fairy Godmothers, helping in the café, setup, take down, and more.

Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is America’s largest food bank in distribution to its network of 600 hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. Named top charity in Texas by Charity Navigator for financial performance and accountability, the Houston Food Bank provides 79 million nutritious meals to food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other agencies, feeding 800,000 people each year. Fresh produce, meat and nonperishables are distributed from the warehouse at 535 Portwall, and hot meals are prepared and distributed from Keegan Center, a 15,000 square foot industrial kitchen. Additional community services range from nutrition education to assistance with food stamp applications and hands-on job training. Red Barrels offer a convenient way for grocery shoppers to donate nonperishables for their neighbors in need.

Offers a therapeutic horsemanship program designed to allow riders with disabilities to find joy through equine-assisted activities. Several volunteer opportunities are available including volunteers who walk beside clients as they ride, horse handlers and assistance in organizing events and fundraisers.

Kids Meals Houston
Kids Meals is Meals on Wheels for Houston’s hungriest preschoolers. Our mission is to end childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children. Kids’ Meals is a first-responder to children ages five-years-old and under facing debilitating hunger due to extreme poverty. Every weekday, year-round, from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers prepare thousands of healthy lunches consisting of a sandwich, snack and 100% juice or milk. Our six vans deliver the meals M-F to children enrolled in our program. We currently serve six Houston-area routes that target zip codes all located within Beltway 8, where the need is critical. Volunteers ages 8 years and up are needed 365 days of the year.
Meals on Wheels Montgomery County
Works to deliver meals and provide transportation services to elderly residents in the area. Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals, assist with administrative duties, events and participate in the telephone reassurance program.

Montgomery County Youth Services
Provides crisis counseling, shelter programs and prevention services to Montgomery County youth with the goal of strengthening families and keeping children in school. The organization provides individual and family counseling, summer programs, pregnant and parenting teen support and alcohol and substance abuse education. Volunteers are needed for special events including the annual golf tournament in November, Ladies Night Out and Ironman in May as well as clerical and administrative roles. Volunteers are also needed to entertain and cook for children at youth shelters.

The Montgomery Country Women’s Center

Resale with a Purpose

Village on the Park
Village on the Park is located off Jones Rd. in northwest Houston is a senior living and memory care facility. Since adding the memory care unit, budget cuts were made to the senior living residents. They are looking for entertainment to help lift the spirits of the residents. They can accommodate small groups of 8 or less to facilitate playing games, singing, music sing a longs, instrumental music, hand massages and nails painted for ladies, pet therapy, reading and one on one visits (especially in memory care). There are currently 18 residents in senior living and 5 residents in memory care. Both groups can enjoy the same entertainment.
